It is economic and secure to determine the optimal siting sizing of offshore wind farms (OWFs) integrated into AC system through voltage-source converter high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) links. In this paper, an planning model for VSC-HVDC-link-based OWFs capacitors proposed, where a decomposition technique presented solve proposed mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem obtain solution. This can optimize improve voltage profile reduce adverse influence reactive power OWFs. With model, total investment costs, operation costs maintenance OWFs, VSC-HVDC links, be minimized. Simulations on modified IEEE 118-bus show that provide more scheme than independent scheme, in which are planned after Besides, series sensitivity analysis certain equipment studied regular pattern VSC stations.
